Our client, a leading global organisation within the aviation leasing sector, is seeking a Tax Specialist to join its growing Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Tax professional looking to develop their career in a high reputable international business.
The role will involve working closely with the VP of Tax (also based in Shannon) and wider Global Finance and Treasury Teams. The role will ideally suit someone looking to move into an Industry role who wants to get exposure within a Global Tax Function working across both Compliance & Advisory or someone with similar experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance, including the preparation and submission of tax returns, filings, and payment obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support quarterly and annual tax reporting and provisioning processes, including preparing tax computations, provisions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist in managing corporate tax risk by monitoring tax authority correspondence, identifying potential issues, and coordinating responses where required.
- Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, supporting the implementation of any required changes.
- Provide tax support on leasing transactions and other commercial activities, including reviewing international tax implications and working with external tax advisers.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Act as a key contact during internal and external audits, ensuring all tax-related information and documentation is provided accurately and on time.
- Partner with the wider Finance team, providing tax guidance and support on a range of finance-related matters.
Requirements
- AITI qualified (ACA or ACCA qualification would be an advantage).
- Post-qualification experience in a tax-focused role.
- Experience within the aviation leasing industry beneficial.
- Experience in tax accounting beneficial but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance and reporting.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
